The Arrival and Initial Bonding

The day finally came for Paul and Kayla, Paige, and Josh to arrive.

It proved too much for Rebekah.
Waiting and waiting....

When will they EVER get here?!

Turns out Utah had a big storm that day and the airport eventually closed.  Paul flight was early and they were lucky to get out.   Rebekah was SO very happy to see Paul.  Even before he sat down Reka had the Garfield ball and was ready to play.

Yay for patient big brothers!

Kayla and her family's flight was canceled.  After much rearranging, they got a flight the next evening.  Rebekah was NOT happy about that.  More waiting.... That evening Don took Paul to go see a Pacers game, much to Rebekah's distress.  On the way home he would pick up Kayla and fam.  Rebekah spent the night home with me and asking every few minutes about Paul or Kayla or Josh or Paige.  At one point mom Walker made the mistake of an unannounced  trip down stairs.  Rebekah excitedly thought it was Paul.  It was much work to calm her down.
Bedtime came and hours later I finally got her to sleep.  Then the call came from Don.  Plane delayed.  They didn't get home until 2 AM or so.  Rebekah woke up around 8 and wanted to play with her new playmates.  I had the task of keeping her away from sleeping company for the next 4 hours.  And boy it was a job.

Everyone finally got up.  YAY!

Aunt Rebekah first introduced herself to her niece, Paige.

That went well.
Then Grandma got to bond with her great grandchild.

Play time

Rebekah was much interested by this little girl

She sure had a good time

Later that night:

I had a big day the next day.  I was playing a number of songs at the church Christmas program as well as singing in the ward choir (something I had fought hard against and lost - but that's another story) and we also had a dinner get together with some people in the ward that remember Kayla when she was little.  I was suppose to make dessert.  Don decided to help by making the cookies with me.  Yes, you read right.  And here is proof:

While we were baking cookies (which turned out great!) the rest of the family played games.

A great start to a great week together!

How fun to have everyone together - it looks like a party!
