I asked Rebekah what she wanted to get daddy for his birthday. She said, "cake." I asked what else she wanted to get her daddy for his birthday. After much thought she said, "sprinkles...?" Ironically, she knows her father's wishes very well. A day before the event the cake was made. Chocolate with chocolate frosting. And sprinkles.
Reka helped with the sprinkles
And since we don't need a lot of cake, I turned the rest of the batter into cupcakes
Reka paused the decorating to taste the said sprinkles
And then there was the taste test
because no 2 year old can wait a whole day before eating cake
That day the present my mom sent Don arrived
And again, there was the taste test, cause what 2 (or 52) year old can wait
The next day was Don's birthday. He knows how to make an entrance and made us wait all day for him. He even planned a business meeting on the way home from work to make his day longer. Silly husband. I'll have to talk to that man.
But finally, he arrived. Reka was very happy.
First thing she did was show him his presents
(Special thanks to mom Walker for doing all the present / card work)
He got some really nice frames to display all his degrees from mom and some fun size Butterfinger candy bars and a card from Reka. Here's the card from her:
Decorated with her own hand
Think she had help with the letters....
We had a nice dinner of Sloppy Joes, corn, and fries. All of Don's favorites. Then there was the eating of the cake.
I got the cake and ice cream ready for Don to start dishing out.
By the time I got back with the dishes, Reka was licking the lid.
And who can blame her? It is Blue Bell.
The eating of the cake
Happy birthday husband!
