She also brought this home a little late, but still - raising money - is a good new years resolution.
I spent the first part of February cleaning out drawers. I found an old notebook containing our early writing attempts. Hard to see but still fun to remember.
This one says I love you 100,000,000 and so forth.
Early attempts at letters.
Early attempt at words. At the end of the lesson I would have Rebekah practice reading out loud. So, she would say, "I want mama to eat my belly then tickle me" and I would promptly do it. Fun way to end a lesson. Ah, the good ol' days.
More early writing with new sentences interspersed. You can see her reading sentences if you look close. My favorite is "please spank my bum..." although I also thought, "mama warm your hands on my belly" was quite ingenious.
A book Rebekah wrote.
"It was the morning of the big ball. You can marry a prince at the ball. It is a big responsibility."
(the "it" on the top of the page is the last of "responsibility" from the page before.)
"You will love him. And play. Then you will eat. Well then you will have a baby.
You will play with..."
"...him or her. And feed it."
"Hi, I am Rebekah. I love princesses. I also like playing school."
My mom bought her fashion plates for Christmas. She has loved creating fashions.
She has also created her own newspaper:
She made this gem at activity days. Yes, you heard me: activity days. I swear she was just 2.
A cute little snake.
At school she did a research project on the sloth. I think she did a great job with her handwriting and spelling, only misspelling princess in the about the author section, so I will not type out her words.
These are some reviews she got from the 4th grade class assigned to read her research paper.
