Random Pictures

Just learning to crawl.  She looks a little discouraged.
A lesson to us all - for she is crawling now with great skill and determination!

Love the after bath hair style....

She loves to put the duck in her mouth and make the ducky squeak.
Makes for an adorable little picture!

In honor of her daddy's love of Nascar:
Baby's First Wreck

Baby's first (and last) teething biscuit
(I didn't realize how full of sugar these were when we bought them.  So, I let her have one and then gave the rest to Don, who then proceeded to eat the entire package.)

"What? Daddy ate my cookies...?"

Before And After

Before

After

Before

After

Ironically, it's much more interesting now that she is crawling all over the place.  Don said to me the other day that Rebekah has a long way to go before she is like her mother....

My Day? Officially Made!

On Saturday Don sold the bed in the spare room.  I took Rebekah for a walk while he took apart the bed in preparation for the new owners to come and get it.  When we get back from the walk, I opened the door to see all the spare bed parts piled in the front hall way.

I push Rebekah into the entry way and say to her, "LOOK at that mess!"

She, still in her stroller with the "mess" right in front of her now, replies very slowly and distinctly: "Da-dih-dih."

I smiled ear to ear.  "Yes, Rebekah, that's right!  Dad did it."

Don was in the living room in the black lazy-boy chair, and therefore was close enough to hear.  His back was towards us, so I couldn't see, but I just know he was smiling too.  I think he muttered something about how he was going to hear that for the rest of his life....

I suppose Rebekah WillaMay is too young for a first sentence, but to me it will always be, "Dad did it."

Daddy's Friends

I'm so excited to meet daddy's friends!  I wonder where we will go....?

First stop, Port Jeff to see the Long Island Sound

And there's daddy's friends!  Cameron, Miss Sherry, and Dan!

Miss Sherry brought me a doll and some clothes.  We like her.

Next stop, LUNCH!
Don't worry - no actual coke was drank by me during the making of this post.

I did, however, get my first french fry....

Mama asked Dan to take a family picture in honor of daddy and mama's 2nd year anniversary

Then we looked around to see what we could see.

Mama lifted me up so I could get a better view....

While daddy took pictures

Then we went to the beach!

My foot prints in the sand

It was a great day with our friends Cameron, Miss Sherry and Dan.
Thanks for coming all the way from Mississippi to see us!
Hope to see you again soon!

8th Month

7 Months

31 weeks

32

33

34

Rebekah WillaMay got her third tooth this month.  Yay for teeth!  Can't wait until they all come through so we can be done.  I'm sure she shares that wish.
This month was a big moving month for little Reka WillaMay.  Rolling all over the place!  She learned how to get to a sitting position from a laying position.  She is almost crawling - goes backwards in kind of a circular motion.
She still loves the neighbors dog - hope one day to get a picture of them together.
She does not like riding lawn mowers.  Weeks ago we were walking by them and she broke out in the saddest cry you ever heard.  Weeks later I thought it would be okay when we passed them on another walk, but no.  This time she cried, but she also told me all about it.  There were consonants and vowels - baby babble of course, but she was definitely trying to communicate to me her feelings.
She laughs at the strangest things, but her little laugh touches your heart and brings tears to your eyes.  Okay, maybe that's just me, but it is heart warming to hear.
She says "da-da" very well.  It may be too soon for this, but I swear when she looks at Don and says "da" she knows what it is she is saying.
She loves to be sung to, and even trying to sing along with me.  One day I was changing her clothes and singing.  I got to a note that I hold out.  She usually smiles.  This time she actually joined in.  Made me smile big.
I do love my little girl.  Can't wait for each day with her.

Anniversary Traditions

This anniversary kind of got away from us.  We had good friends of Don's come out that weekend and we had a wonderful time with them (post soon to come).  So, we semi-celebrated on the 4th.

I had bought these fancy glasses for our wedding.  Last year I brought them out and we drank grape juice and lemonade.  This year, apple juice.

Don bought dinner from this wonderful place called Smokey Bones.  So good!  He also stopped at Red Lobster to buy me some coconut shrimp - which is a huge sacrifice for him seeing that he does not like even the smell of seafood.

And finally, I wanted to get a picture of us every year on our anniversary.  Dan (Don's friend) took a better one I will post later, but....

Here's to us!

And a close up...

Happy 2nd Anniversary to my sweet husband, my best friend, my soul mate, my help meet, my very significant other. I love that you know me better than anyone else. I love that you are mine and I am yours eternally. All that, and you are nice too look at too! I love you, my dearest Don.

Getting Bigger

I got so big I grew out of my old car seat!  So, daddy bought me this one.  It so nice....

Mama left me on the blanket and then went to wash my bottles.
When she came back I was here.
Rolling, Rolling, Rolling on the carpet.....

Swimming

We first learned Reka WillaMay had a love of water down in Texas.  It was so hot!  She just wasn't use to it. To cool down a little, we took her out back to Spencer & Shreann's pool.  Don held her over the water so her little feet could touch the water.  Kick kick kick, splash splash splash!  She laugh and laughed and couldn't get enough!
When we left, aunt Shreann gave Reka WillaMay a little swimming suit.   When we got home, Don bought swim diapers and sunscreen.  Then we waited and waited until it finally got hot enough up here for us to try it out.

Ready to hit the pool!

After we came back...

(The hoody is a hand me down - we are certainly blessed.)

Got to love her little smile!
