My little girl turned 3! How did that happen? Wasn't she just born? Sigh....
Rebekah knew she would be turning 3 for some time. She had been waiting patiently. Well, as patiently as a 2 year old could be. The big day finally came close enough to start the cake making. In our little family we make half the batter into cupcakes and put the rest into a smaller cake. The cupcakes we freeze for later.
Rebekah's job is the sprinkles.
She did very well.
Okay, we freeze most of the cupcakes. There is one cupcake that doesn't get frozen for later.
May I present the traditional pre-birthday cupcake eating:
Getting every sprinkle
Here she is pondering what it will be like to be three.
The day finally came.
She was waiting in great anticipation. What would her day bring?
First it brought a surprise visit from daddy at reading time!
She sure loves her dad!
Next it brought a trip to the voting booth.
Yay democracy!
Then it brought a balloon. Yay!
(Rebekah saw this balloon in Don's car. "Look mama! A balloon! A balloon in daddy's car! I see a balloon! There's a balloon in daddy's car!")
A few phone calls from family
(this is actually a conversation with nana)
Then it brought a trip to Recreation Unlimited to play with a friend
There was much fun on the trampoline
Much fun.
She sure loves to climb
Don played a little too
Fun little houses
Found one I liked too. Love a porch with a swing. Maybe when I grow up....
Rebe and her friend Anabel
(and Don's legs....)
Anabel's mom Mary and her little boy Noah enjoyed the swings
So did Rebe
Then Rebe found her dad and shot some hoops too.
Unfortunately it was time for Anabel to leave. They had one last picture before she left.
After Anabel left, I had to take over. Here we are looking for treasure
We left Recreation Unlimited in search of some requested chicken for our little birthday girl. Then we made it home for some much anticipated cake and ice cream. Strawberry cake with strawberry frosting and strawberry ice cream is what she asked for. Well, actually she asked for Neapolitan ice cream. It has chocolate for me, vanilla for Don, and strawberry for Rebekah. My little girl does think of everything.
"Yummy cake"
Happy birthday song
First bite
Then....
PRESENTS!
Biggest was first
"Mommy! A train set!"
Boots from nana
M & M's from Frank
A flashlight from mama and daddy
sticker book from nana
And from grandma....
Wait for it....
A TABLET!
So much fun!
Happy birthday to my little Rebekah. Couldn't imagine the last 3 years without you. So glad you are ours.
